With no respite on costs, high levels of cancellations reported and the numbers of new festivals dwindling, the festival business is perhaps tougher than ever right now. Add in unpredictable weather, the availability of headliners and some high profile activism around budget-critical sponsors, and it’s a challenging mix.
But the explosion of music, creativity and excitement emanating from fields this year was bigger than ever, and experienced by millions of fans worldwide.
