First Showcases Announced
With IFF just a few weeks away (and passes starting to run extremely low), we’re super-excited to be announcing the first round of agency and partner showcases for this year’s event.
On Thursday 26 Sept from 15:30 – 17:00, Paradigm Agency takes over Dingwalls to present 21-year old Hull native and hotly tipped new talent Charlotte, and rising stars Easy Life, whose mix of hop hop, R&B and pop has earned them spots at Glastonbury, Latitude and Y Not this summer.
London duo Franc Moody’s raw warehouse style lands at IFF before a string of international shows later this year, and Open Mic UK winner Lola Young showcases her dark, witty style and musical storytelling ability. More info here.
On Wednesday 25 Sept from 15:45 – 16:30, Pitch & Smith present alt-rockers Happyness in advance of autumn dates supporting Jay Som and The Magic Gang. And Gothenburg-based producer sir Was performs at IFF before an eight-date November UK tour and spot at Iceland Airwaves. More info here.
Wednesday evening at IFF is a smorgasbord of musical talent, with shows taking place across three Camden venues from 9pm. With complimentary drinks and an exclusive guest list, it’s going to be a lot of fun until the early hours…
At Camden Assembly, TOUTPARTOUT present post-punk outfit Whispering Sons who’s recent top 10 debut album ‘Image’ is followed by upcoming shows across Belgium, France and the UK. And STAKE bring their uncompromising sound and rock energy to IFF in advance of shows across Europe and the Voor De Duvel Niet Bang Festival in The Netherlands.
Hamburg native Niklas Paschburg performs at IFF after 5million+ streams of his single ‘Spark’ and supports for the likes of Alice Cooper, Prong and Deftones, and Joe Gideon with Jim Sclavunos & Gris-De-Lin unites former members of Bikini Atoll and The Bad Seeds before their new album release in 2020. Just down the street at The Monarch, Dutch Music Export are hosting one of their renowned Dutch Impact nights, with three of the hottest new artists from the Netherlands taking the stage.
Having remixed the likes of Dua Lipa, G-EAZY, Diplo and Rihanna, Jarreau Vandal (live) performs tracks from his debut album Anthology; while YĪN YĪN showcase the duo’s mix of world music, disco, funk and electronic styles before upcoming festival shows at Transmusicales and Le Guess Who. Capping the night, renowned five-piece indie band Chef’Special land at IFF after support shows for Twenty One Pilots and festival slots at Lowlands and Sziget. More info here.
Finishing off Wednesday night’s trio of shows, Pop Farm presents Bol Festival, the biggest festival of independent music in Russia. AIGEL is the poetry of Aigel Gaisina with a foundation of electronic hip-hop created by Ilya Baramia, while Inturist are described as “the most unpredictable musical project in Moscow”, having toured their spontaneous live shows and creative improvisations at SKIF, Tallinn Music Week, Garnir and more.
And closing the night, Moscow-based emo-punk trio Pasosh distill four albums and over 200 shows in Russia and post-Soviet countries into one furious, final IFF set. More info here.
