The hotly-anticipated IFF panel programme is set to be the best yet, with the chairs of two of the key sessions confirmed and ready to lead discussion on some of the biggest issues facing festivals today.
On Wednesday 25 September, the programme will kick off with The Festival Season 2024, chaired by European Festival Report Editor James Drury. The session will bring together international festival leaders to discuss a range of issues including weather, headliner availability, cost pressures and sponsorship.
Later that morning, Jana Posth, Head of Festival Operations at Berlin-based DreamHaus, will chair The Responsibility Session: Festival power. Festivals are a cultural force, with many as much a celebration of values as music. Speakers and audience will be invited to discuss whether festivals are doing enough to harness that opportunity, as well as investigating what a new era of artist activism means for festival organisers.
